Static or Dynamic?

Static sites can be single or multiple page and shouldn’t be confused with the meaning of the word ‘static’: they can still contain moving images and sound and e-commerce elements and video and quite a few things. A static site doesn’t mean it’s fixed (like a magazine) it means it doesn’t carry volatile data.

OK, so what's volatile data? This is site content that is constantly changing (due to stock levels dropping or bookings being made on-line for example). If your requirement is for site users to update some element of your site somehow, then you’re going to need a dynamic site and some database design.

You may want to regularly update some of the content of your site yourself: this, too, would require a dynamic site.

Flash

Your site can contain Flash™ elements or be entirely built in Flash™. Flash™ enables aspects of your site to move, or fade in and out, or images morph into new images.

A Flash™ site can project a professional image for your organisation and doesn't have to be an all-singing, all-dancing, completely in-your-face endurance session for you visitors; it can be a very pleasing and soothing experience and is well worth the effort.

Site Hosting

Once your site is built, we can host it for you. If we’ve built your site for you, hosting comes at prices way below the market rate. Whether it be static, dynamic or Flash™, our prices are very competitive.

If you have your own servers, then your site can be put there. If you have a server and need a hand with its configuration, then we may be able to help;.

Should you require a third party server arrangement, then we may be able to help you there, too. If this is going to be your preferred choice, then we need to know up-front; it may affect the site development process.

Logo Design

Would you like a unique logo including on your site? For a basic logo design, look no further. A simple logo is an effective identifier for your business or service: at our cost effective prices, can you afford to miss out!

The logo will be provided electronically to you for you to use on you letterheads; invoices and the like. Based on the colour scheme of you choice, it will be the feature that your clients will recognise and single you out above your competitors.

Of course, your site logo can contain moving images. If this is what you'd like, give us a call.

E-commerce

If you want to start e-selling, it’s possible via your site; e-commerce options can be built in. For this to happen you're going to need a third party merchant to handle the payment details, such as PayPal™; but as long as we have the details, we should be able to cope with just about anything!

We could even build you a designer shopping cart process if you so desire. If your web site has a database mechanism anyway, this could well be more prudent; especially if you have stock levels reflected on your site: the last thing you want it to tell someone you've despatched something that you later find you don't have in stock! Bear in mind that this will still require a merchant account, though.

Site Maintenance

It's important to keep your site up to date and keep your visitors interested; when your initial site build is completed and installed; on-going maintenance and support is provided. All you need do is contact us and we'll accommodate any modifications that you require.

If you keep your site up to date and well maintained, not only will your visitors keep returning, it's advantageous from a search engine point of view; they like nothing more than site content that is constantly changing, and your rankings are likely to improve.

If your site is a dynamic one, then you'll be able to maintain any dynamic content within your site yourself. This can include anything from tables of records to home page content and images.

Photographs

If you have your own images that you'd like to go onto the site, then simply send them to us and we'll do the rest. The higher quality the image, the easier it will be for us to edit and optimise it for use on the site.

We can even come and take some pictures to include on your site, if you'd prefer. (This is subject to location) Whilst I wouldn't want you to trust us taking the main pictures for your wedding, we can certainly take a selection of photos that will enhance your site no end.

All pictures will be taken as raw images and edited and optimised for web site use.
